PEACE EDUCATION FOR MEDELLIN SCHOOLS IN SUPPORT OF THE COLOMBIA’S PEACE PROCESS AND NATIONAL RECONCILIATION

The Peace Education Foundation is invited by the Archdiocese of Medellin Department of Schools in Colombia to train 80 teachers from all of their 29 schools at the Instituto Universitario Salazar y Herrera over two dynamic days of Conflict Resolution workshops. Trained teacher teams will return to their respective schools to train their staff to implement the Peace Education program throughout the Archdiocesan Schools. The schools adopt our model and curriculum as a response to the mandate of Colombia’s Ministry of Education to establish Peace Studies (“Catedra de Paz”) in all schools throughout the country as part of the National Peace and Reconciliation Process.
